Connecting Virtual Spaces: Shadow Objects as Key Elements for Weaving the Cooperative Space

چکیده
Cooperative knowledge areas are a well-proved approach to support process of cooperative work and ELearning. The Paderborn Open-Source system sTeam establishes cooperative knowledge spaces so far as a single server implementation. This paper presents our architecture of distributed cooperative knowledge areas. The main conceptual idea of the sTeam system is a combination of a document management system and a MUD. The goal of a distributed architecture of cooperative knowledge spaces is the ability to create one world of connected virtual knowledge spaces over various servers. Something, which is especially important, when thinking of new scenarios of integrating peer-to-peer clients into a multi-server architecture. Distributed knowledge spaces also have to cover concepts for a multi-server group and user management, which allow to move users transparently from one server to another. Materials should be structured independently of their location on a server. The following paper first discusses the idea of structuring a virtual world into zones or areas, which is also found in multi-user virtual environments. After that our architecture of distributed cooperative knowledge areas is presented. In the field of user management two different approaches of a peer-to-peer and master-server group and user-management are possible and discussed in detail. Our trial implementation will be a fusion of both concepts and prototypes.

Thirdspace: The Trialectics of the Real, Virtual and Blended Spaces
This article aims to redefine the concept of Thirdspace and make a trilateral relationship between the three concepts of real space, virtual space and the user. To do so, not only the concept of Thirdspace has to be redefined, but also a new understanding of virtual space as a relatively independent space is required. This three-sided relation requires a new understanding of the relationship be...

Online learning is becoming an increasingly popular request. Many universities are moving fully or partially to this form of study. In the article, the authors considered what is virtual space, what are its criteria, as well as applicability for teaching students and passing research practices. Based on an analysis of existing virtual spaces (platforms), an experiment was conducted. The study s...

Introduction This survey is based on deciphering the space of globalization phenomenon and revealing affected by spatial actions mechanism under investment discipline (according to compressed space and time). The basic question is how the space could be used, organized and created so that it could be in line with investment flow progress necessities. This can be unrevealed by applying concep...
متن کاملON Q-BITOPOLOGICAL SPACES
We study here $T_{0}$-$Q$-bitopological spaces and sober $Q$-bitopological spaces and their relationship with two particular Sierpinski objects in the category of $Q$-bitopological spaces. The epireflective hulls of both these Sierpinski objects in the category of $Q$-bitopological spaces turn out to be the category of $T_0$-$Q$-bitopological spaces. We show that only one of these Sierpinski ob...
